It took some convincing before Biloxi, MS-based Holden Earth Moving & Construction decided to put our revolutionary lightweight Matrix NeoCast™ brake shoe and cohesive-friction NB1088™ brake blocks to the test on one of their dump trucks, and once they did, they were amazed by the results.

But it wasn’t just any truck. It was the one driven by the guy who was the hardest on his brakes. The one who required brake changes more frequently than anyone else, as requested by NeoBrake Sales Rep Carlie Harrison to best demonstrate the powerful impact of this shoe/lining combination.
“Usually, we pair NeoCast and NB1088s with our Matrix Revolutionary™ brake drum so customers can cash in on all the useful, extended life that is created when these three products are paired together, but in this case, they only wanted to go with the two,” added Harrison. “You can really see the difference in the video Holden did for us.
As it turns out, the testing period lasted so long – two years, in fact – Holden’s designated driver retired, which prompted a brake change. The accompanying video shows mechanic Mike Rosas sharing the unprecedented results they found, including the useful service life remaining in both the NeoCast shoe and NB1088 linings. Unfortunately, the brake drum used was worn to the point that it was rendered out of spec and, thus, our products had to be replaced pre-maturely.
Regardless, the trial was a complete success. NeoBrake’s Matrix NeoCast and NB1088 linings more than doubled the service life (with more to spare) of the brakes installed prior on a truck that was driven harder than any other. Holden Earth Moving & Construction be happier.
